COVID-19

COVID-19 is the disease caused by the new coronavirus that emerged in China in December 2019. This has caused a worldwide outbreak of respiratory illness. It was named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO) in February 2020.

COVID-19 symptoms include cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, sore throat, unexplained loss of taste or smell, diarrhea and headache. COVID-19 can be severe, and some cases have caused death

The new coronavirus can be spread from person to person. It is diagnosed with a laboratory test.

The new coronavirus is spread through droplets released into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The droplets generally do not travel more than a few feet, and they fall to the ground (or onto surfaces) in a few seconds.

There is no coronavirus vaccine yet. Prevention involves frequent hand-washing, coughing into the bend of the elbow, staying home when sick and wearing face mask and so far, social and physical distancing is being an effective way of preventing the spread of the virus.

As a believer what should be my response to COVID-19?

Follow the instructions from the Government on handwashing, social distancing and any other guidelines in your location.

Keep your eye on the lord Jesus Christ. Feed your self with the word of God. Reduce your time in front of the news media as there is a lot of negativity being released in the air waves.

31-39 So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.

We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.

None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.”

Quarantine Period Advice:

COVID-19 cannot separate us from the love of God. As we stay at home, let us use this time to get to have a better relationship with our family and better relationship with God. Spend time in prayer and the word of God. Learn a new skill, develop yourself in a new area. Develop a new hobby. Spend this time wisely as it may never come back again. Beloved, make the best out of this period of quarantine. We love you and Jesus loves you more. Remain blessed.
